im pretty sure this wasn't exactly what i had in my head before i forot it, but it's close enough to make the point.
i want all of you to play the bass guitar, or any instrument of your choice, and play it and love it. so then, you can understand how i feel when i play bass and understand why sometimes late at night i just strum on the strings to let the rhythm in my head go some place.

dude you has to cheer up. sometimes, even when the world is against you, you just have to smile.
also:

Doesn't one usually play the bass without using a pick?
Or am I a complete and utter moron.
you can do either.
punk bands like green day generally use a pick to get a more aggressive sound.
